Physical Therapist
Physical therapists are specialists in evaluating and treating disorders of the human
body primarily by physical means. Whether the condition results from injury, disease or
other causes, they focus primarily on those individuals who have disturbed function or
impairment related to the musculoskeletal, neurological, cardiopulmonary, and
integumentary (skin) systems. Physical Therapist evaluate the functioning of these
systems and apply the appropriate treatment to alleviate pain and improve physical
function. These services are in great need by people of all ages and backgrounds.

Physical Therapist Assistant
Physical therapist assistants, sometimes called PTAs, and physical therapist aides work
under the direction and supervision of physical therapists. They help patients who are
recovering from injuries and illnesses to regain movement and manage pain. The
Physical therapist assistants are involved in the direct care of patients.

 

Occupational Therapist
Occupational therapists are health professionals trained to assist people to overcome
the limitations caused by injury or illness, emotional or psychological difficulties,
developmental delay or the effects of aging.
An occupational therapist may be needed to evaluate remaining function, particularly for
those individuals who have lost a limb.
